Tuesday, April 16th, the national science advocacy group, 314 Action announced that they are endorsing Dr. Shawn Ellerbroek for the Iowa House District 57 race as part of their downballot initiative. The non-profit group seeks to elect STEM-educated candidates to public office. Ellerbroek earned an undergrad degree in biochemestry from the University of Iowa followed by a Ph.D. in cell and molecular biology from Northwestern University. He is now a professor of chemistry at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa.
